The Genesis Entrepreneurship Centre, located at the Main Campus A1229 (right by Tim Horton’s) is the gateway to entrepreneurship and professional development at St. Clair College. It is a hub that connects students, alumni, faculty and the community. The Genesis Centre provides all guests with resources, programs, and support to provide them with tools for success in whatever path they choose. If you have a business idea or solution, this is a great place to start!

The Genesis Centre continues to offer many of our workshops virtually but has begun to offer some in-person workshops. Any available in-person workshops are identified on the calendar. All other posted workshops and events will be delivered virtually.

If you are unable to attend an event due to a personal or school scheduling conflict, please email genesis@stclaircollege.ca and we will make arrangements to accommodate you. If you are interested in a one-on-one mentorship consultation, those can be requested via the above email address.

Jennifer is an experienced lawyer and patent agent qualified in Ontario. Before joining PIC, she spent more than 20 years in private practice, advising clients in diverse sectors on strategic approaches to intellectual property. A past recipient of Best Lawyers in Canada (Intellectual Property) and IAM Strategy 300 (World’s Leading IP Strategists), Jennifer has had the privilege of working with domestic and foreign companies in all stages of IP development, commercialization and enforcement.

T1 General Small Business Tax Literacy Seminar

Presented by the Canada Revenue Agency’s Liaison Officer Service Program This seminar is offered to owners of small businesses and self-employed individuals who need help in understanding their tax obligations. The presentation is geared towards unincorporated businesses and will provide participants with the basic principles and resources needed to navigate the tax system.

During the seminar, the Liaison Officers will:

  • Explain common tax errors
  • Demonstrate how to use financial benchmarks for relevant industries
  • Provide information on various tools and services offered by the CRA
  • Explain general bookkeeping concepts and best practices
